With its easy-to-follow navigation, robust reporting, and unusual pricing model, Acumatica is a good choice for growing small to midsize enterprises.

Looks like Friday the 13th was quite an exciting day for browser-based ERP solution, Acumatica, as they were announced PCMag Editors' Choice award winner in the small to midsize enterprise (SME) general ledger accounting space.

Ted Needleman, PCMag's editor fortunate enough to be tasked with reviewing Acumatica and several of their competitors, such as NetSuite OneWorld and Intacct, included a brief description of the software, mentioning its ability to be accessed strictly through a web browser, as well as its compatibility with Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and even Safari.

Needleman describes his experience using Acumatica as, "excellent, with a feature-rich environment delivered through an intuitive interface", and even though it is noted that the pricing model might confuse some customers the reasoning behind it is ultimately listed on the plus side of the Pros and Cons list captioned below:

  • PROS
Easy navigation. Browser-based application makes it easy to use mobile devices. Non-user-based pricing easily accommodates growing company. Excellent reporting. Runs on various databases. Available in cloud, hybrid cloud, or on-premises deployments.

  • CONS

Some users will be able to use the customization tools, but many will need the partner to do this task. Pricing can be confusing.

  • BOTTOM LINE

With its easy-to-follow navigation, robust reporting, and unusual pricing model, accounting software Acumatica is a good choice for growing small to midsize enterprises (SMEs).
