The newest version of Acumatica is here -- providing more product enhancements and improved usability than ever before!
As mentioned in our Acumatica Summit 2019 Recap, Acumatica announced their latest release - 2019 R1 - which provides comprehensive product enhancements allowing users to experience improvements to the product, specifically the financial management, inventory management, project accounting, and field service management modules.
Below are some of these specific improvements broken down by module:
Financial Management
- Predefined list of currencies
- Financial management software users no longer need to manually enter the world currencies and their basic settings thanks to the predefined list of currencies now included.
- Different start periods for companies in the same tenant
- Companies using multiple legal entities within the same tenant can now have different fiscal year-end dates.
- Accelerate implementation; simplify maintenance for companies with shared vendors, stock items, & employees; run consolidated operational reports at any time; and facilitate the preparation of consolidated financial statements with this functionality.

Order Management and Inventory
- Automated Warehouse Management Operations (WMS)
- Clients with medium or large warehouses typically use external inventory management software for supporting standard warehouse operations.
- Improved physical inventory counting
- Automated balance adjustment
Project Accounting
- Multi-currency project accounting
- Users can enter project transactions in different currencies and maintain projects in both the base currency and the project currency.
- With multi-currency project accounting, project managers and accountants can review actual revenues, actual costs, and committed costs in the project currency, with an ability to calculate project profitability in both the project currency and the base currency, and present costs to the customer in the customer's currency.

- Enter and modify project budget forecasts and compare these forecasts with the actual project costs and incomes for each financial period.
- Each project can have multiple budget forecast revisions.

- Company-Specific Financial Periods in Project Accounting
- Companies using project accounting within the same tenant can have different fiscal year-end dates with this functionality. This is important for companies that share vendors, stock items, and employees.
Field Services
- Advanced calendar boards
- Users can now customize the calendar board by rotating the member vs. time axis and changing the time range to show schedules for one week or one month. They can also now reassign an appointment from one staff member to another on a different date, viewing the agenda for a group of staff members on a particular week or month, or viewing the availability of rooms on a particular week or month.
- Appointment & real-time GPS Location Tracking
- Using the mobile device of the service personnel, the GPS of any location can be tracked.
- Direct Invoicing
- From the Field Service application, the service personnel can now directly generate an invoice from a service order or an appointment.

- Ability to personalize the primary color of the company's user interface. This enhancement provides a custom look & feel allowing employees to distinguish between branches in order to minimize entry errors.

- Highlighting results in Generic Inquiries
- An option to highlight rows or columns of a generic inquiry based on conditions has been introduced. This enhancement not only provides visual cues for specific action items but also allows users to analyze data more quickly.

- Side Panel Enhancements
- Users can now adjust the side panel in a way that makes the most sense for the process or activity they are trying to work on. This includes the ability to resize the side panel and then save the new size automatically, as well as the development of a button allowing users to maximize or minimize this panel, and other side panel elements in order to optimized the use of window space more effectively.

- Improved help search results via Machine Learning
- In this release, Acumatica uses Machine Learning to provide a natural language search to provide the most relevant search results available. This update will also allow the order of search results to change based on intelligence gathering from past user clients.

- Link existing files to Acumatica entities
- Now users easily add links to attachments that already exist in the system! If the file is linked to multiple documents and a user wants to delete this file from one of them, after deletion, the file will be still available in the other documents.

- User Defined Fields
- Acumatica's user-defined fields allows users to add new fields in multiple forms in each of the modules without a programmer.

- Progress Bar for long-running processing
- The new Processing pop-up window provides visibility into the completion percentage, the elapsed processing time, and an approximate of the remaining running time of the process.
- Additionally, a System Monitoring screen has been added, allowing users to look at multiple processes that might be running at the same time.
- Multi-factor authentication
- Two-factor authentication has been introduced, requiring users to present additional evidence of authentication - such as a specific code received via push notification - in addition to the user credentials, for example: the username and password, providing an added level of security.
- New end-user training
- New online training on Acumatica 2019 R1 will be available for anyone that wants to learn about the Acumatica software solution from reporting to system administration. This is available at no charge on Acumatica Open University!
